1 · The "should I automate this?" test

A task is a great candidate if it passes all three. If it needs your gut, your relationships, or high-stakes judgment — keep it (or keep a human check on it).

Repetitive — you do it over and over (daily/weekly).
Rule-based — the steps are basically the same each time.
Low-judgment — a mistake is annoying, not catastrophic.

Golden rule: only automate what you already understand.

2 · The audit — circle your time-wasters

Brain-dump every task you do the same way more than twice a week. These are your automation candidates.

Rule of thumb — AI alone: drafts, sorting, summaries, backups. You approve: sending to customers, spending money, deleting, anything irreversible.

5 · Before you flip it to auto — safety check

Tested it manually with a few real examples — it behaves
A human approves anything that spends money, deletes, or reaches a customer
My passwords / API keys are kept private (never pasted into random tools or screenshots)
I'll check on it weekly — apps change and connections break
